Design has been a life-long love affair for me. It all started when I was really young, I asked my father to let me choose new paint colors and furniture for my bedroom. He took me to an antique shop, we picked out a dresser, and he taught me how to redo it. I was probably in the 6th grade, but it was exhilarating. I spent many nights rearranging my space, looking at catalogs (no Pinterest back then!). When I was in high school, he bought a completely gutted house and renovated it himself. He let me have a lot of say in design elements and choices within the house because he trusted my style, and he taught me SO much. It was then that I knew I needed to start my own Interior Design business at some point in my life. I went to art school in Philadelphia for photography and fashion merchandising, but it did not last long. I ended up moving home and landing a job at J.Crew, doing visual merchandising as a sales associate. I quickly moved up to manager, and transferred to their sister store, Madewell, continuing visuals there for a few years as a keyholder. I then decided to try out a different company, where the visual team was a little more in control of the space- Anthropologie. I was there for about 5 years, and even became a Store Brand Leader (what they call their general manager). It just did not seem like the right fit, though. Next I tried H&M. It was fun, but still not quite right. After my fair share of moves around the retail industry, I figured it was time to really go for the Interior Design hobby and turn it into a job! I worked for a Designer in my area for a few years, and she taught me everything I needed to know for starting out on my own. It was an amazing experience and I owe her so much! I realized I loved styling for events as well, and thought, hey why not also add that into my services offered! So, here we are. A full Interior Design and Event Styling company.
